Simple But Powerful: How Drinking Water Transforms Your Beauty

Dr. Colbert in his book “The Seven Pillars of Health” tells us that “something as simple as drinking water can bring health back to our cells by maintaining water balance in our bodies.”

Most people will go from one caffeine beverage to another all day long such as soda, iced tea and coffee, without realizing they are robbing the water from their bodies. Caffeine is a diuretic. A diuretic is any substance that promotes the production of urine. All diuretics increase the excretion of water from our bodies. Your body loses about 2 quarts of water a day through urination, perspiration and exhalation. Water is involved in every function of the body, so drinking enough water is so valuable to your health and beauty.

I like to begin my day with drinking warm water with organic lemon. Starting your day in this way gives your body the hydration it needs after resting from the night before. Sleep is the time of renewal for our body, so by starting off the day with water helps our body work more effectively.

Water flushes the body and improves digestion and increases the metabolism which is extremely beneficial for healthy weight. In addition, water rejuvenates the skin, keeping it supple and hydrated. I believe it’s a potent anti-aging remedy for aging skin. We need to drink about 2 quarts of water a day.
Make it a habit to start the day with drinking water and continue throughout the day. You can increase your water intake by eating fresh fruits and vegetables and salads that contain a high amount of water.  You will not only look better but certainly will feel better! The times you feel groggy and tired during the day could indeed be a signal that body needs more water.

Adding lemon is an added benefit. Lemons are rich in vitamins and minerals. Vitamin C is an antioxidant that protects the cells from oxidative damage. Consuming vitamin C leads to younger looking skin because of the production of collagen. Increased collagen will diminish lines and wrinkles, leading to more smoother radiant complexion. Lemon contains potassium and magnesium which is good for heart health. In addition, lemon aides in digestion, stimulates the liver by cleansing and flushing toxins in your body.

Simply just squeeze lemon into the water. You can grate the skin of the lemon as well. Be sure to use organic lemon.

Enjoy this refreshing drink that will benefit you inside and out.
